The ever growing trend of wearing skinny jeans might be crushing nerves in the very thighs they’re supposed to flatter, MSNBC reports. Experts say they’ve seen an increase of young women suffering from meralgia paresthetica, or “tingling thigh syndrome,” caused by wearing ridiculously tight jeans. It occurs whenever constant pressure is applied to the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve, causing a tingling or burning sensation.

Typically, the condition afflicts obese people or construction workers. Sometimes, it’s seatbelts in an accident. But lately, the main culprit has been skinny jeans. Those wearing high heels are particularly susceptible. But don’t worry, fashion slaves; the damage isn’t usually permanent. But for you fellas out there, the outcome could be a bit more drastic. According to MSNBC recent medical research has found that men who wear skinny jeans too tight and too often could possibly have some, ahem … reproduction issues, if you catch my drift. If you can’t catch it, it means you could possibly shoot blanks! So, guys here is a tip to find out if your jeans are too tight, when you put your pants on and cannot slide your thumb inside the side of your jeans without any struggle, they are too snug. As far as a tip for the ladies, what can I say, beauty is pain.
