NEW MUSIC: SUMMER PICKS
Purple Label PR | July 6, 2010Purple Summer Picks 2010 is jumping with new music. New and old artist alike are making it their business to create straight summer bangers to make this summer unforgettable. Whether it is an album, mix tape, or just a single- here are the “must haves,” some that may have fallen under the radar, and what I suggest you hear so you won’t be left out!

Let’s first get the obvious out of the way: If you haven’t heard “Thank Me Later” by Mr. Aubrey Drake Graham- you are truly doing yourself a disservice! This debut album from the Canadian definitely lives up to the hype. Lyrically charismatic and with dope production, it is sure to be a summer pleaser. One of my favorite tracks is “Karaoke” produced by: Francis Starlite from Francis and the Lights.

The next musical encounter you must have is with the latest smash mix tape from Mr. Cee-Lo Green called “Stray Bullets.” He gives 14 tracks of pure eclectic, funk, soul, pure genius, musical roller coaster rides wrapped in a bow. Check out “You Don’t Shock Me anymore.”

The next track you definitely want to download or hip your DJ’s to, is a new one by Bobby Valentino, entitled “Phone #” Featuring Plies. This track is crazy and guaranteed to get the party going. No Stranger to the summer anthem scene, I think he may just have created another for you all. The track is available for listening pleasure on bobbyvmusic.com and is available now for download via ITUNES.
