The opening of Carol’s Daughter was an intimate gathering of press, celebrities and patrons, who all came out to support Founder Lisa Price. Her products have been featured on the Tyra Show, HSN, The Today Show,Essence Magazine and many other places. Founded in a kitchen in Brooklyn, New York, creator Lisa Price’s homemade concoctions have become staples on the shelves of celebrity bathrooms. “Crumbling Therapy”

Our Purple Label Pick of the month comes from natives of Inglewood California. (West-Sieeede!!) Comprised of three twenty-somethings guys by the names of Sleezy, Kent, and Tube, together they form a trio called OverDoz. As cliche’ as it may sound, these guys really have a sound all their own. They have an Outkast-meets-electric circus kind of vibe, that you can dance to, rock to, or just ride out to. The main thing that I really dig about OverDoz is, not only do they have a good lyrical standout  with eclectic beats, get this – they can sing to!  With a mixtape in circulation, and a recent video shoot under their belt for their single ‘Crumbling Therapy” these guys are totally on our radar as one of the next artists to watch.

Here at PLPR we are not gambling women, but we sure would have put money on  Vick  finding his way back into the NFL before the end of 2009. Quarterback Vick arrived in Philadelphia Tuesday morning and remained there Wednesday evening. The Eagles will hold a news conference on Friday morning to announce his signing. The ever growing trend of wearing skinny jeans might be crushing nerves in the very thighs they’re supposed to flatter, MSNBC reports. Experts say they’ve seen an increase of young women suffering from meralgia paresthetica, or “tingling thigh syndrome,” caused by wearing ridiculously tight jeans. Is Wale the greatest new rapper since Shawn Carter? We’ll know in September. That’s when Wale’s eagerly awaited debut LP, Attention Deficit, is scheduled to arrive. The album includes his collaboration with Lady GaGa, “Chillin’, and a recently leaked summer jawn titled “Pretty Girls.”

Here at Purple Label .PR we are major fans of any kind of music that is hot , upbeat and that you can play on repeat (hey that rhymed !) This is  track suitably titled”Back” is definately one of those tracks that we keep in heavy rotation. The Los Angeles rap trio comprised of  3 dudes by names of Like, Mibbs, and Be Young, has a Run-DMC style with a wisp of The Clipse. They’ve opened up for Ludacris and many  others, and have quickly formed a huge following. After listening to their mixed tape “Church League Champions”,  we pretty much see why, these guys are super talented. I am sure we will be seeing a lot more of them very soon.
